JHF, LLC keeps honest records the way good harvests keep honest seasons: page by page, boot by boot. From our home office at 323 W Weatherby Dr in Saratoga Springs, in the state of Utah, we guide family farms through crop planning, soil health, machinery sharing, and the careful scheduling that turns a long, anxious summer into a full wagon by fall. The JHFS brand stands on a simple conviction: a working farm runs on sound advice and a ledger you can trust, kept in pencil so it can always be corrected and never so carefully that it stops telling the truth.

We are a consulting office more than a collection of forms. When a client calls, what they find on the other end is a person who knows the difference between a March planting window and a September one, who has rained on a field at midnight, and who writes numbers down before the coffee gets cold. Our advice is practical because it is grounded in the ground, and our paperwork is careful because a farm that cannot prove its season on paper cannot protect its season at all.

The rows we track and tend for client families every growing season, from the Wasatch Front to the wide benchland farms east of town. Every one of those acres has an open page in the ledger showing its plots, its past, and its plan for the year ahead, and none of them is treated as a number in a column alone.

From the Ledger

One wet July, a hailstorm rolled in off the mountains and stripped two-thirds of a young-planted field before anyone could roll a tarp across a single row. Most crews would have written that field off to the weather and moved on. Our crew instead pulled the blank and spare acres from the ledger, telephoned a neighbor who happened to hold a little extra seed, and had the damaged rows torn out, replanted, and running with water again inside nine days.

Our walk-through route marks each numbered plot for soil, schedule, and spray notes before we ever switch a key. Each plot keeps its own running sheet, so a piece of advice given from the field in May still explains itself completely in August, and no row ever sneaks past unseen or untended.

Crop Rotation Planning

Rotation is the oldest tool on the farm and, ironically, the easiest one to skip when the pressure is on in spring. We map your fields into a four year wheel that gives every crop a fair chance at the nutrients it needs and gives the soil a full season to breathe and rebuild. Legumes return nitrogen to the bank, deep rooted crops loosen the hardpan below the plough line, and a thoughtful sequence dulls the weeds and the disease before they ever grow comfortable in one corner of the farm.

Crucially, we write the wheel down and we hold it gently. No rotation is a prison, because markets change and so do families, but a written plan means that when change arrives, it arrives as a decision on purpose rather than as an accident we are left to explain to next years ledger. Your fields stop guessing, and your whole season starts from a page that was committed before the frost broke.
